Hardware - Hard Choices

Whether you are buying a custom kitchen or working with Ikea for your dream kitchen there are little things you can do to up the ante in your space. Cabinet hardware is the easiest place to make an impact.

Every kitchen showroom, Home Depot or Ikea has cabinet hardware to choose from - take it from me DON'T. Be an original and have fun!

Things to keep in mind:

  • Many cabinets come with pre-drilled holes for your hardware so you will be working with a set size.
  • If the cabinets are custom this can be changed but at an expense.
  • Interestingly Ikea does not pre-drill holes so you can choose whatever you like.
  • Anthropologie makes a ton of fun options but they are made to work with furniture so they come with very thick posts. They will need to be cut down to work with most cabinets.
